Multimodal Transport Planning
Course Overview
This advanced three-day programme focuses on the strategic planning and operational execution of multimodal transport across African trade corridors. Africa presents unique challenges with limited infrastructure, multiple border crossings, and varying regulatory environments that make multimodal planning critical to supply chain success.
Participants will learn how to design efficient multimodal routes combining road, rail, ocean, and air transport while managing cost, time, and risk trade-offs. The programme covers major African corridors including the North-South Corridor, Maputo Corridor, Dar es Salaam Corridor, and Trans-Kalahari Corridor.
Through practical exercises and corridor simulation exercises, participants will develop the skills to plan, cost, and execute multimodal shipments that deliver cargo reliably and cost-effectively across the continent.
